Jon Burkett- Reporter
After graduating from Manchester Highschool, Jon joined the Navy. He studied to be a broadcast journalist at Fort Meade, MD. He graduated and was shipped off to La Maddalena, Italy, where he spent 3 ½ years doing radio and tv.
In his final year of the Navy, he transferred back to Fort Meade and moonlighted at WBFF Fox 45 in Baltimore.
Knowing that he was departing the Navy after five years of honorable service - Jon sought to work in his hometown.
Hired on by Stan Heist as a weekend editor/photographer...Jon worked in that position for about 4 months, then a reporter position opened up. Telling the news director he could do it all..he was given a chance.
6 years later he's still on the job. Jon covers mostly crime in Metro Richmond and fills in for sports guys Greg Burton and Lane Casadonte when they call him out the bullpen.
Jon is the proud papa of two. His daughter Sophia and son Austin are the most important things in his life..along with work.
Jon hopes to have his own crime show one day!
