Cheryl Miller- Anchor
Cheryl has been an Anchor/Reporter with the CBS 6 News team since September 1984.
Currently anchoring the long-time #1 News CBS6 at Noon, in August 2009 Cheryl rejoined "Virginia This Morning" as co-host of the 9-10 a.m. weekday Talk/Entertainment show. Cheryl co-hosted the inaugural year of the show from 2006-2007.
Cheryl also enjoys challenging area students as host of "Battle of the Brains", Central Virginia's longest-running high school academic quiz show, which airs Saturday mornings at 10 a.m. on CBS 6.
With more than 35 years broadcast experience, Cheryl has also shared her knowledge of television and radio as an adjunct professor at Richmond's J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College. She spends many nights and weekends hosting community events, emceeing pageants, speaking at graduation ceremonies and community programs, and making other personal appearances. Cheryl has also narrated a planetarium show for the Science Museum of Richmond. One of the highlights of Cheryl's career, she says, was a role, created just for her, on CBS's longest-running daytime drama, "Guiding Light", which ended a 72-year run in September 2009.
Before coming to WTVR-TV, Cheryl worked as a TV news Anchor/Reporter in Binghamton, New York, and a freelance "Lifestyles" reporter in Rochester, New York. Previous to that, she spent nine years as a Radio Disc Jockey in her hometown of Rochester.
In April 2008, Cheryl received an "Outstanding Women" award from the Richmond YWCA.
In May 2007, Cheryl was inducted into the Richmond Broadcasters Hall of Fame, and received the "Frank Soden Lifetime Achievement Award". In May 2000, Cheryl was voted "Broadcaster of the Year" by the Richmond Broadcasters Hall of Fame.
In April 2007, the Urban League of Greater Richmond bestowed Cheryl with a "Community Legend Award".
